Thursday Drops: More Planners Arrive! Midori Hibino, Gradation Day-Length, Kawecos and More!

The second wave of 2027 planners arrived this week, with new releases from Midori in the B6 Gradation and Hibino format. For those looking at a planner smaller than an A5, these are both compact diaries that feature excellent fountain pen friendly MD paper. We’ve also added Midori grain leather B6 spiral notebooks, as well as the Midori A6 Commonplace Notebooks with their flexible grid layout and bookmark feature. Finally, we’ve restocked on our Midori planner tabs and bookmarks, to allow you to accessorize your planners and journals and customize them to your needs.

In addition to planners, we have a ton of new arrivals from Kaweco (including Lunar Purple Sports and a new AL Piston Sport), as well as new fountain pen releases from Diplomat in both the Cobra and Viper lines.

1. Midori Gradation B6 Day-Length 2027 Planner. These cool B6 planners feature a vertical weekly layout with a 24 hour stack and a color gradient that tracks daylight.

2. Midori 2027 A6 Hibino. A popular request by my regular local customers, the Midori Hibino is a 1-day-on-2-pages A6 diary/journal/planner which packs a whopping 750+ pages into a compact small notebook. The Hibino layout allows you to plan on one side and journal or take notes on the other, should you like.

3. Midori Hibino “Free Diary” Undated Planner. In addition to the 2027 dated Hibino, there’s an undated version with the same one-day-to-two-page layout.

4. Midori B6 “Grain” Spiral Notebooks. I’ve been wanting to add these gorgeous Midori Spiral notebooks for years, but until we launched the new shop we’ve not had the space. These spiral notebooks feature MD paper and three different leather covers.

5. Diplomat Cobra Fountain Pens and Rollerballs. Are you a fan of the guilloché texture on the Diplomat Viper but prefer a more substantial pen? The larger Cobra fountain pen features a full-size JoWo No. 6 fountain pen nib, and the rollerball is equally comfortable in the hand.

6. Diplomat Viper Orange Fountain Pen and Rollerball. The popular Diplomat Viper is now available in a vibrant orange color, in both the fountain pen and rollerball versions.

7. Kaweco Lunar Purple Fountain Pens. Kaweco continues to build out the “Lunar” series with two new purple acrylics - Lunar “Shadow Purple” and Lunar “Light Purple”. Shadow Purple has a cool green tinge to it.

8. Kaweco AL-Sport Piston Bordeaux. Kaweco has added to the AL Piston Sport lineup, and this latest release is a gorgeous dark burgundy red aptly named “Bordeaux.” I will be claiming one of these so get it before I do.

9. TRAVELER’S Company 2027 Diary and Accessories. This year’s limited edition TRAVELER’S dated diaries, pencil boards, folders, and sticker kits are in-stock and shipping! Get your TRAVELER’S Notebook ready for next year.

10. TRAVELER’S Notebook Standard-Size Starter Kits. We have standard-size TRAVELER’S Notebook Starter Kits in multiple colors, including Blue, Brown, and Camel.

Thursday Drops: TRAVELER'S Diaries, Lochby Daily Folios, and Kaweco DIY this Weekend!

Many thanks to everyone who attended our event last weekend, but guess what? The Kaweco DIY fun continues this week through close of business on Saturday! Come build a DIY Sport in the special edition “Glow Green,” and shop a range of new arrivals including the newly arrived TRAVELER’S Notebook 2027 Diaries/Planners, the Blackwing Volumes 143 Frida Kahlo pencils, and the Lamy Studio Petrol series. We also have the Lochby Daily Folios in three different sizes, including the large A4, the standard A5, and the small A6. Check out these and more below.

1. TRAVELER’S Company 2027 Diaries and Planner Refills. This year’s TRAVELER’S Company Diaries and Planner releases have arrived! We have the Standard and Passport size dated planner refills, as well as this year’s accessories including the plastic folders and pencil boards.

2. TRAVELER’S Notebook (Standard) Starter Kits. At long last, TRAVELER’S Notebooks are back in stock! We have standard-size starter kits in Blue, Camel, and Brown. All other colors and sizes remain out of stock at the moment, so please get these while you can.

3. Blackwing Volumes 143: The Frida Kahlo Pencil. The latest Blackwing Volumes pencil release has arrived in the shop, and this one is a tribute to artist Frida Kahlo.

4. Lamy Studio Petrol Fountain Pens, Rollerballs, and Ballpoints. Lamy’s latest release is a matte dark teal Studio fountain pen, dubbed “Petrol,” and yes we have the matching ink back in stock!

5. Lochby Daily Folios. This much awaited addition to the Lochby lineup combines a portfolio with a higher-capacity pen case for added functionality. The Daily Folio is available in A4, A5, and A6 sizes.

6. Lochby Field Binders. A favorite from this past weekend’s event, the Lochby Field Binder is a more rugged take on the classic 6-ring binder. Each binder ships with 50 sheets of Tomoe River 68g paper.

7. Tono & Lims T.G.S. Exclusive Inks. We have a small number of bottles of the T.G.S.-exclusive Tono & Lims inks, Classic Burgundy and Black Shimmer, back in stock. These will likely not last.

8. Kakimori Glass Nibs. Many of you have asked about my newfound fascination with glass pens, and this Kakimori nib is an excellent take on the writing experience since it’s a replaceable glass nib that you can swap in and out of standard nib holders.

9. Kakimori Metal Nibs. In addition to the glass nibs, we have additional conical metal nibs in brass, stainless steel, and copper, as well as the standard pen nib.

10. Kakimori Notebooks. Kakimori has released a fresh season of their fabric-covered A5 notebooks, with new colors and patterns. There are some gorgeous striped fabrics available this time around.

Weekly Drops: New Anterique Multi Pens, Carl Desk Accessories, and More Wood Pencils!

This week’s arrivals feature an entirely new product segment from Japanese maker Anterique: a set of three-color low-viscosity multi pens in both standard and mini sizes! The Anterique “Mach Ball” refill is an excellent low-viscosity ballpoint that flows smoothly in the .5mm size, and until the release of the multi pen you were limited to black. We also recently restocked on standard Anterique ballpoint pens.

We’ve also had a ton of new pencils and pencil accessories land in the shop, including Uni Mitsubishi Hi Uni and Tombow Mono 100 pencils, Carl Pencil Sharpeners, and of course the new Mongols.

1. Anterique Mach Ball 3-Color Multi Pens (Standard Size). The standard-size Anterique Multi-Pen comes in five different colors. Each pen contains a black, blue, and red low-viscosity ballpoint .5mm refill.

2. Anterique 3-Color Multi Pens (Mini). In addition to the standard size, the Anterique Multi Pens come in the miniature format. Refills are available for both sizes.

3. Carl Angel-5 Desktop Pencil Sharpeners. The Carl Angel-5 pencil sharpener might be my favorite long-point desktop sharpener on the market, especially once you consider the value proposition.

4. Carl Standard Desktop Pencil Sharpeners. These economy pencil sharpeners from Carl are still excellent, especially if you don’t need the dagger point of the Angel-5, or want a sharpener that doesn’t leave the signature “teethmarks” on your pencil barrel.

5. Carl Refill Maker 6-Hole Punch. We have additional stock of one of my favorite desk accessories - the Carl Refill Maker which allows you to create your own 6-ring binder refills in sizes that include A5, Bible, Mini, and Mini-5.

6. New Mongol Pencils. The classic Mongol pencil brand returns! Be sure to check out our recent overview of this very good wood pencil, which is a reissue of a classic No. 2 office brand that has been out of circulation for decades.

7. Uni Mitsubishi Hi-Uni Pencils. A high-end favorite of wood pencil enthusiasts, we sell the Mitsubishi Hi-Uni in four different grades of graphite, both individually and by the dozen.

8. Tombow Mono 100 Pencils. Some people prefer either the Mono 100 or the Hi-Uni - both are excellent and we have restocked on both individual pencils and dozen boxes.

9. Uni-Ball One F Series and Earth Texture Gel Pens and Refills. We received a complete restock of standard Uni-Ball One gel pens, as well as the stand alone refills that can be used in both the One and Zento pen bodies. The One gel ink appears glossier than the matte Zento.

10. Wonderland222 Dated Planners. My (Joe’s) planner system of choice, the Wonderland222 features an intuitive layout that allows you to plan at multiple levels during the course of a year. We recently featured a walkthrough of this system and discussed why we like it in detail.

Thursday Drops: Planner Season Is Upon Us! Wonderland222, MD Product Journals and More

It’s October, and “Planner Season” has officially arrived. Our allocation of Wonderland222 planners and notebooks is now live and available for purchase online and in-store. The 2027 lineup of planners and notebooks features 52gsm Tomoe River Paper, and we have stocked the 576-page All-in-One models as well as the slimmer “Core” planners. Grid Tomoe River notebooks are also available.

Our T.G.S.-exclusive Tono & Lims inks have now arrived, and remain available for purchase though stock in this initial shipment is dwindling. 1. Wonderland222 Planners and Notebooks. For the past year, I’ve been using a Wonderland222 A5 Core Planner as my primary analog “brain”, and I love it. We currently stock several different formats of Wonderland222 Planners in A5, B6, and A6 sizes, along with their notebooks. This year all Wonderland222 Planners use 52gsm Tomoe River Paper.

2. MD Product Dot Grid Notebooks. We really stocked up on the MD Product Dot Journals! These are back in stock to cover all the bullet journalers who love this particular format.

3. MD Product Natural Undyed Goat Leather Covers. Looking for a long-lasting leather cover that will age gracefully through many years of MD notebooks? We have the MD Product Leather covers available in multiple sizes, including A5.

4. Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter BS_20 in A4 and A6. While A5 remains the most popular Roterfaden size, we have been receiving an increased number of requests for the large A4 and smaller A6 sizes. The small A6 was once a standard model in Roterfaden’s lineup but has been scaled back in recent years.

5. T.G.S. Classic Burgundy and Black Shimmer Tono & Lims Exclusive Inks. We’re excited to announce that we now have our own house inks! Classic Burgundy is the dark red I’ve always wanted in my own collection but have been unable to find, and Black Shimmer adds dark red shimmer to a nuanced black writing ink.

6. T.G.S. x Sunderland Machine Works mk1 Rollerball. A coveted exclusive release is back in stock! The Sunderland mk1 is a versatile machined rollerball, and we worked with Sunderland on an exclusive bead-blasted matte finish in our red and black colorway.

7. Sunderland Machine Works mk1 Standard Line Rollerballs. In addition to our exclusive Sunderland machined pen, we’ve restocked on standard mk1 colors, including new dark green, gold, and turquoise finishes.

8. Pilot Vanishing Point “Golden Journey” 2026 Limited Edition. We were lucky enough to receive a limited allocation of this year’s exclusive Vanishing Point release, inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi.

9. Midori MD 5-Year Diaries. These hardbound diaries/journals allow a few lines for each day, with five years to a page so you can compare entries against prior years as you go. There are two different size formats.

10. Midori MD 3-Year Diaries. Find five years too intimidating? Midori’s multi-year journals also come in a three-year format.

Thursday Drops: So All the Exclusives Landed at Once! The T.G.S. Sunderland MK1 Returns!

It’s been quite the week here at T.G.S.! We launched our updated storefront on Sunday, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reception. Thanks for all the kind comments, and know that we appreciate them even if we haven’t been able to respond to each one. The best part about updating the website? We’re no longer limited by the number of products we can offer at any single time, so we’ve been listing new arrivals all week. Of course, the headliners are our exclusive inks with Tono & Lims: Classic Burgundy and Black Shimmer, but we also have a fresh shipment of T.G.S. x Sunderland Machine Works mk1 rollerball pens that hit the site today. Many of you have been asking about this restock, so we’re excited to announce it’s here!

In addition to the Sunderland pens, we have some quirky new additions like the Uni “&Knot” carabiner pen, the Jetstream Edge Multipen, and more.

1. TGS x Sunderland Machine Works mk1 Rollerball Pen. We’ve received a fresh shipment of our exclusive collaboration with Sunderland Machine Works - a matte black Sunderland mk1 rollerball pen with a dark red section.

2. Sunderland Machine Works mk1 Rollerball General Restock. We also received additional stock of the standard Sunderland mk1 rollerballs, including new colors including Gold, Turquoise, and a Dark Green that’s almost, but not quite, black.

3. TGS “Classic Burgundy” and “Black Shimmer” Exclusive Fountain Pen Inks (by Tono & Lims). Check out yesterday’s post explaining the story behind these inks if you haven’t already! We’re thrilled to have our own dark burgundy black exclusive, plus a cool black ink with red shimmer.

4. Uni Jetstream Edge Multi Pen. The Jetstream Edge line features a
   ballpoint writing tip as fine as .28mm, and now there’s a multi-pen version! Each pen ships with black, blue, and red multi pen refills.

5. Uni &Knot Carabiner Ballpoint. This latest quirky Jetstream release has been trending! It’s a go-anywhere ballpoint that can clip to a bag, belt, or basically anywhere you can use a carabiner. Accepts the SXR-80-05 Jetstream multi pen refill.

6. Opus 88 Harmony Fountain Pens. This new-to-me model from Opus 88 sits between the smaller Koloro line and the larger demonstrators. All Opus 88 Pens are Japanese-style eyedroppers, and you can read more about how they work in our prior reviews.

7. Opus 88 Koloro Ebonite and Koloro Acrylic Fountain Pens. The Koloro pens are slightly smaller than most of the Opus 88 lineup while also remaining a full-sized pen. Opus 88 recently released a series of colorful acrylic Koloro pens in addition to the classic ebonite versions.

8. Retro 51 Tornado Rollerballs and Twist Pencils. We’re happy to introduce Retro 51 to our lineup of brands, with three different Tornado Rollerball collections and a few of the 1.15mm twist pencils. We look forward to building out our selection of Retros as we move forward.

9. Uni Signo DX New Colors. We’ve added several new colors of the Capped Signo DX gel pens, including some of my personal favorites like the Green-Black and Golden Yellow.

10. Uni Signo RT Retractable Gel Pens. Uni Signo RT gel pens are restocked, including favorite colors such as Violet and Blue-Black! Love how the DX writes but prefer a retractable format? Be sure to check out the Signo RT.
