New Arrivals: Huge Roterfaden Restock with TGS_25 Taschenbegleiters, Full A5 Sizes, and More

Our Summer Roterfaden restock arrived sooner than we anticipated, meaning that we now have additional stock of the A5 Slim TGS_25 Taschenbegleiter in the Dark Green leather with grey interior and grey or light green elastics. These are available to ship immediately. We also have a fairly large selection of standard A5 Roterfaden Taschenbegleiters in various leather and felt/suede combinations, as well as additional stock of the B5 Taschenbegleiter LTD 028.

I’ve had some requests for additional information and explanation about how the Roterfaden notebook system works. I’ve generally been referring people to this YouTube video, in which I walk through my own setup.

Please note that pickup by appointment prior to Thursday is not available in the Nashville shop this week. If you would like to reserve a specific Taschenbegleiter to pick up in-person, you can select “Local Pickup” at checkout. You will receive an e-mail letting you know when your order may be picked up during normal business hours, which will be Thursday and Friday from 1-6pm and Saturday from 10-5pm.

Thursday Drops: New Arrivals from Tom's Studio, Anterique, Toyo and More!

Just in time for the summer season, we’ve received a restock of shop favorites including Toyo Steel Boxes and the Tom’s Studio Fineliner lineup. In addition to the Lumos and Wren, we now have the Ori “Infinitely Refillable” Highlighter, as well as the Tom’s Studio Highlighter inks and a full lineup of Tom’s Studio fountain pen inks in both standard colors and shimmer. Certain colors (specifically Clementine and Espresso) have been in high demand and are now back in stock. Note that we also have Tom’s Studio replacement nibs, ink reservoirs, and other parts.

Did I mention we have additional TWSBI fountain pens in many different materials and nib sizes?

In addition to the large Tom’s Studio shipment, we have new stock of Toyo Steel boxes in many different colors, Diamine ink in favorite colors (including Writer’s Blood!) and more!

1. Toyo Steel Boxes in New Colors. We received a new shipment of Toyo Steel Boxes in several sizes and several new colors, including gorgeous indigo and lilac shades. These steel boxes from Toyo are useful for storing small bottles of ink, washing tapes, and other desk and office supplies.

2. Tom’s Studio Ori Refillable Highlighters. The latest release from Tom’s Studio features refillable highlighter pens in three different color combinations and six different fluorescent inks. Two of the inks (green and purple) are dye-based and can be used in the Lumos pens.

3. Tom’s Studio Lumos Refillable Fineliners. We received a shipment of Lumos Duo pens in all colors, so we are fully stocked. For those of you coming to see us in person in the Nashville shop, we have new Lumos testers inked up with several different tip sizes. You can read more about how these work and why we like them here.

4. Tom’s Studio Wren Fineliner Pen. If you are looking for a pocketable refillable fineliner to use mainly for writing, consider the smaller Tom’s Studio Wren!

5. Tom’s Studio Fountain Pen Inks. Safe for use in all fountain pens and Tom’s Studio refillable fineliners, the Tom’s Studio line of inks features 20+ ink colors. We have all of them currently in stock as of the time of this post.

6. Anterique GP1 Gel Pen. Is it a click pen, or a capped pen? This new gel pen from Anterique features a smooth .5mm gel refill in multiple colors that match the “cap” of the pen. (It’s not a capped pen - it’s actually a click pen that looks like a posted vintage-style ballpoint!)

7. Anterique Classic Ballpoint Pen. The cult classic that went viral overnight is back in stock in many popular colors. These Anterique ballpoints feature a smooth low-viscosity ballpoint refill that’s perfect for everyday writing.

8. Life Paper. We are restocked on Life Noble Note, Typewriter Paper, and Airmail/Onionskin pads. Life Paper is widely regarded as some of the most fountain pen friendly paper available and is prominently featured in our long-running post “Hierarchies of Fountain Pen Friendly Paper.”

9. Diamine Bottled Ink. We recently received a restock shipment of Diamine Ink, including favorite colors like Writer’s Blood, Oxblood, and Lady Grey. We even have single bottles of some of our favorite past Inkvent Colors!

10. Diamine Ink Cartridges. In addition to the Diamine assortment packs, we now have single-color packs of select Diamine Inks, including Writer’s Blood, Early Grey, and more.

Oh, and as a special surprise, we have a couple of Itoya Helvetica ballpoints that I brought back from Japan! These won’t be a regular item so be sure to grab one as available.

New Arrivals: A Cap Pen, Click Pen, or Both? Introducing the Anterique GP1

Do you remember last year when seemingly the entire world discovered Anterique’s flagship ballpoint pen as a result of a viral news article? We do, because overnight we shipped 1,000+ of these things. Well, not only do we have additional stock of the standard Anterique low-viscosity ballpoints (which continue to be a favorite of TGS readers and customers), but we’ve added additional Anterique products as they become available, including the recently released Anterique GP1! The GP1 (“Gel Pen 1”, presumably) is a click pen that looks like a classic stick pen with the cap posted, but is in fact retractable. We currently stock the pen in four different colors and also sell the refills.

Be sure to check out the entire line of Anterique pens, which we offer both online and in our Nashville store. If you visit in person, note that Anterique makes more than 100 color combinations, not all of which can be displayed at the same time, so if there is a specific pen you are looking for it may be easiest to place an online order for pickup. Thursday Drops: New Ink Arrivals from Diamine and Waterman, Plus More TRAVELER'S and MD Paper!

We’re busy getting the store stocked for the summer season here in Nashville, and for online! We recently received a restock of Diamine Ink, including coveted colors like Writer’s Blood, Oxblood, Red Dragon, and more, in addition to several bottles of past Inkvent series (with the Black Series being my favorite). We continue to have limited stock of TRAVELER’S Notebooks, with distributor availability remaining low, so if you’ve been looking for a Standard size don’t sleep on these as the timing of any restock is always unclear.

Finally, we are steadily building out our stock of Pilot pens, including not just the recently arrived Custom 845 Urushi in Prussian Blue, but also additional nib sizes in the Custom 912 line, and more stock of favorites like the Custom Heritage 92, Capless Decimo and the Custom 74.

1. Diamine Inks, including Writer’s Blood, Oxblood, and Red Dragon. Yes, we restocked on all of our favorite red inks, including these three that are perennial top sellers.

2. Diamine Inkvent Series Bottled Inks. Each year Diamine releases the colors from the previous year’s Inkvent calendar in 50ml bottles. We currently have a small selection of a handful of colors, including some of our favorite Inkvent shimmer inks and multi-shaders!

3. Waterman Bottled Ink. The Violet (now “Tender Purple”) was a favorite inks for a long time, and we’re glad to now offer it. We will be adding additional colors as they come in stock.

4. TRAVELER’S Notebook Standard Size. We have a small number of Standard TRAVELER’S Notebooks in Brown. Unfortunately these continue to be in short supply and we will list these covers as we have them.

5. Craft Design Technology Leather Cases and Sleeves. When we last restocked on Craft Design Technology products, we added a wide selection of leather goods that include pen cases, pen sleeves, and portfolios. I took several of these to Japan with me and they travel well.

6. Pilot Custom 845 Urushi Fountain Pen in Prussian Blue. Additional nib sizes are now available! Pilot’s latest Custom 845 release features a deep Prussian Blue lacquer in a more compact format than the larger Custom Urushi. This pen also has a wonderful 18k gold nib.

7. Lamy Safari Neon Pink and Neon Yellow Special Edition Pens and Pencils. The latest Safari release is here! This year’s release features two bright colors in all pen formats and the .5mm pencil. The Neon Yellow with black trim is the current favorite.

8. Pentel Tradio and Pulaman Plastic Tip Fountain Pens. One of the big hits of the latest TGS Curated Box, the Pentel Tradio is a fineliner designed to feel like a fountain pen. The Pulaman is a disposable/non-refillable version of the same. We also stock the CDT Dark Green signature Tradio.

9. Life “Airmail” Onionskin Writing Pads. While the envelopes continue to be in short supply, we have received a restock of the coveted Life Airmail writing pads. Life’s Onionskin paper is some of the lightest, thinnest fountain pen friendly paper out there.

10. Kobeha Graphilo Notebooks. One thing we noticed in Japan is the enduring popularity of the Square notebook format. Graphilo makes some of the most ink friendly paper available, and the notebooks are available in A5 and A5 Square sizes.

So happy to finally be able to add these after a bit of a wait!

New Arrivals: New Pilot Releases, Additional 912 Nib Sizes, and Restocks on Favorites!

Our selection of Pilot pens continues to grow, from the new Custom 845 Prussian Blue to the Pilot Kakuno, which has become one of our top sellers in-store. We recently received a large restock of fountain pens, highlights of which include new nib options for the Custom 912 as well as the Kakuno Madoromi, Explorer, and more. We also have more Iroshizuku ink in all bottle sizes and cartridges, including many of the more popular colors that have been sold out. Keep checking back as new pens and inks arrive on a near-weekly basis!

The Pilot Metropolitan/MR offers a medium italic (calligraphy) nib that many enjoy because it’s an easy way to add line definition to your writing.
